Your unforgettable ice adventure begins in the frozen winter wonderland of Minus 5º ICE BAR, Queenstown’s original ice bar. Let the whole family explore over 18 tonnes of captivating ice architecture, hand carved ice statues and amazing ice furniture. Kids can discover the amazing ice carvings and enjoy the chilly temperatures, with everyone staying warm in custom-made jackets, warm boots and gloves. Sip deliciously cool cocktails and mocktails from solid ice glasses, on fur-covered ice chairs, a totally frozen bar and solid ice tables. Snap photos, and create unique icy memories for the whole family at one of Queenstown’s must-do attractions – the Minus 5º ICE BAR, located on the iconic Steamer Wharf. On arrival your Ice Hosts will provide winter jackets, warm boots and knitted gloves for your ice bar activity. We encourage you to take as many photos as you like and would love you to tag us on social media! Take home a piece of the Minus 5º ICE BAR experience with our custom merchandise and souvenirs, including shot glasses, faux fur hats, beanies and our very own ice glass moulds.

Accessibility & Parking
Travelling from the airport
Steamer Wharf is easily accessible from Queenstown Airport, making it an easy first stop for visitors. Taxis, rideshares and shuttle services are readily available, or you can hire a car and enjoy a scenic drive straight into the heart of town and onto the lakefront.
Accessibility
Steamer Wharf is fully accessible, with level pathways, ramps, and wide entrances throughout the precinct. Accessible parking is available close to the main venues, and all public areas are designed to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids. Please note: Due to a scheduled lift renovation, unfortunately lift access to the first floor is unavailable from the 13th - 24th October 2025.
Walking and cycling
For those cycling or walking, dedicated paths connect the precinct to the town and nearby attractions, making it simple to enjoy all that Steamer Wharf has to offer without a car.
Travelling by car and parking
Getting to Steamer Wharf by car is direct, with plenty of public parking available just a short walk from the waterfront. While the Wharf doesn’t have its own car park, you’ll find a mix of paid and timed street parking nearby, as well as larger public car parks around central Queenstown. From there, it’s only a quick stroll to the vibrant restaurants, bars and views that make Steamer Wharf a favourite destination.
Public Transport
Steamer Wharf is easily accessible by public transport, with regular buses running from the surrounding suburbs. Visitors can also reach the wharf via water taxi services across Lake Wakatipu, providing a scenic and convenient route.
